SUMMARY:The First Snakebite Survivors Meet at CMC, Vellore
DESCRIPTION:In association with International Snakebite Awareness Day 209 commemoration, the Poisons Information Centre and Clinical Toxicology Unit, Christian Medical College, Vellore organised the  “Snakebite Survivors’ Meet” which took place on 14th September, 2019.\nThe “Snakebite Survivors’ Meet” was a good platform to strengthen this awareness at the grassroots level by empowering prior victims to be voices of change in their communities as peer educators. Relevant didactic hands-on sessions and focus-group discussions were conducted to enhance the awareness. The postgraduate registrars conducted practical sessions. This was followed by a session on educational videos in multiple languages on recognizing venomous Indian snake species and puppet shows on effective snakebite prevention in the community, organized and conducted by the Department of Nursing services\nView Event Gallery\n
