Key contributions by CMC Poison Control Centre with partners and governments of Member states in developing “Regional Action Plan” to prevent snakebites, provide first aid, ensure access to treatment & improve availability of high quality, safe antivenoms.
The publication of the Regional Action Plan in December, in New Delhi, India, marks a significant step forward in addressing snakebite envenoming in South-East Asia from 2022 to 2030. This plan aims to enhance the progress made by the 2019 global strategy by expediting initiatives to reduce fatalities and disabilities resulting from snakebites by 50% in the region by 2030. Faculty of CMC Poison Control Centre have made key contributions towards the formulation of the action plan.
